On the 23rd-25th of August in Finland there was held the 11th event where women from different countries got together to immerse themselves in pristine wilderness. Only women come to Oulanka shore in August, get on canoes and spend the whole day afloat, sailing down the river close to the Russian border, where Oulanka river runs into Paanajarvi lake – the pearl of our park.
The two parks – Oulanka National Park (Finland) and Paanajarvi National Park (Russia) – are joined in a single territory which has been certified by PANParks. 6 women from Paanajarvi took part in this event. 3 canoes marked with the park «Paanajarvi» symbols pulled 26 km down Oulanka. The eventful day ended in a camp, where all participants agreed to come back to the shore of the Russian river Oulanka the year after.
Welcome!
